We look forward to meeting you!
What you can expect when you visit us.

We are a friendly and warm community of believers from diverse backgrounds with the singular purpose of worshipping Jesus when we gather together.

It can be hard coming to a new place and meeting new people.  Below are some commonly asked questions we thought would answer to help make your visit to NBC enjoyable.

The questions answered below are:

  • What is Sunday service like?
  • What do I wear?
  • Where do I park?
  • What about my kids?
  • Will there be any surprises in the worship service?
  • Is the church associated with any larger group?
  • How can I get connected?
If you have any other questions, you can reach out to us by email and give the church a call during our office hours.
What are Sunday services like?

We aim to be a warm, friendly and welcoming church family.  You can expect to shake a few hands and learn a few names. We want to be genuine and authentic, sharing the love of God that we have experienced through His Son.

The Bible says that we are to praise God with "psalms, hymns and spiritual songs" (Eph 5:19), so we sing contemporary Christian praise songs as well as the good old hymns with their rich theology.

Our church is Scripture-centred, and so whatever the Bible teaches, we believe and teach. We value preaching and teaching that is “expository”. This means making clear whatever the Bible says with sound interpretation, standing on the authority of God's Word, and declaring what it says boldly. For we don't want to preach only part of what God says, but rather the whole counsel of God.

What do I wear?

In a normal service, you will see people coming to our services in a range from casual to more formal attire.  We do not have a dress code so feel free to come in what would be appropriate for a large group gathering.

Where do I park?

We have a parking lot behind the church building that can fill up quickly, so it might be wise to come a few minutes before the service begins.

What about my kids?

We invite kids to be a part of our worship service as we all worship God together in singing, praying and hearing God’s word.  We value the generations worshipping together, with the little ones learning from the example and heritage of the wider church family. We also have Sunday School, "The Kids Zone," part-way through the service for kids up to the age of 10 that provides a time to learn more about Jesus on their level.

Will there be any surprises in the Worship service?

On the first Sunday of every month, we celebrate the Lord's Supper, also called Communion. We do ask those who are not believers in Jesus Christ to observe and allow the Bread and the Cup to pass them, since taking Communion is a public testimony of faith in the Lord Jesus. We sometimes have greeting times and interactive elements like praying together, but we don't single anyone out.

Is the church associated with any larger group?

We are affiliated with the FELLOWSHIP of Evangelical Baptist Churches in Canada (FEBCC). You can click here for the national website, and here for the regional website.

How can I get connected?

We have a weekly Bible Study & Prayer Time on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 pm at the church, all year round.  We also have a weekly Ladies' Bible Study every Tuesday at 1:30 pm, a monthly Men's Breakfast on the first Saturday of the month at 9:00 am, and as well a Women's Ministry Meeting monthly on the second Friday of the month at 1:30pm.
